Publicada em 1957, A Casa Grande de Romarigães de Aquilino Ribeiro é uma das obras mais importantes da cultura literária portuguesa. &#60;br /&#62;
Crónica romanceada que narra a história e transformações da Quinta do Amparo, A Casa Grande de Romarigães é o ponto de partida do projecto de arquitectura. &#60;br /&#62;
Disse Aquilino: “Em toda a fachada, salvo o plano ínfero com a porta singela, mesmo assim de ombreiras rematadas por florões em guisa de capitéis, e duas janelas de grades, a puxar para o Renascimento na sua estrutura, não havia uma pedra que não fosse obra antes de ourives que de escultor. A sua polimorfia era mais rica que a fachada dum livro setecentista. E com os quatro pináculos, saintes em seu fundo bulboso duma pilastra quadrada, e a sineira do género de quiosque, lembrava de facto um pagode, de agulhas e coruchéus em simetria com as corutas dos pinheiros e os olmos, erguidos na mata, mais longe, à luz efusiva dos céus.”&#60;br /&#62;
Adoptando uma leitura top-down, do território do Alto Minho à Casa Grande, o projecto de arquitectura faz parte de estratégia mais ampla que, em diferentes tempos e escalas, tem como objectivo a abertura da Quinta do Amparo à comunidade e ao imaginário aquiliniano. &#60;br /&#62;

Published in 1957, A Casa Grande de Romarigães from Aquilino Ribeiro is one of the most significant works of the Portuguese literary culture.&#60;br /&#62;
A novel that narrates the history and evolution of Quinta do Amparo, A Casa Grande Romarigães is the bottom line for the architecture scheme.&#60;br /&#62;
In Aquilino own words:  "Throughout the facade, except the inferior plan with the modest door, even though with jambs topped by finials in way of capitals, and two window bars, pulling off to the Renaissance in its structure, there was no stone that was not previously craft of a goldsmith than a sculptor. Its polymorph was richer than the facade of an eighteenth-century book. And with the four pinnacles, salient on its bulbous square pilaster background, and the bell tower in the form of a kiosk, suggested more of a pagoda, with symmetrical spires and pinnacles standing between the peaks of the pines and elms, raised in the woods, further, till the effusive light of heaven." &#60;br /&#62;
Aiming a top-down reading, from the Alto Minho territory to the Casa Grande, the architectural design scheme is part of broader approach that, at different times and scales, aims to open Quinta do Amparo to the local community and to Aquilino Ribeiro fictional world.&#60;br /&#62;

O Centro Histórico de Évora poderia ser o cenário de um conto de fadas.&#60;br /&#62;
Classificado como Património Mundial pela Unesco em 1986, as primeiras ocupações do território remontam ao Neolítico.&#60;br /&#62;
Vizinha do Templo Romano, a Casa Morgado Esporão é o resultado dessa história. Uma folie de tempos e estilos: eixos romanos, arcos manuelinos, frescos barrocos, tectos novecentistas e paisagens naïfs convivem de forma aparentemente pacífica. É para este peculiar conjunto que se desenvolve projecto de conservação e recuperação. Prevendo a adaptação de parte da Casa a unidade hoteleira, cabe à intervenção acrescentar um ponto; dotar a Casa de novas valências, salvaguardando a sua natureza espacial, tipológica e narrativa.&#60;br /&#62;

MORGADO ESPORÃO HOUSE&#60;br /&#62;
&#60;br /&#62;
The Historic Center of Évora could be the setting of a fairy tale.&#60;br /&#62;
Classified as World Heritage by UNESCO in 1986, the first knowned territorial occupations date back to the Neolithic.&#60;br /&#62;
Next door to the Roman Temple is Casa Morgado Esporão, which is the result of this circumstance. A folie of times and styles; roman axes, manueline arches, baroque frescoes, nineteenth-century ceilings and naïf landscapes, bonding peacefully together. It is for this distinguished ensemble House that a project based on conservation and recovery is thought. Considering the adaptation of part of Casa Morgado Esporão to a charm guesthouse, the intervention aims to add a new chapter; equip the House with new services, preserving its spatial, typological, and narrative quality.&#60;br /&#62;

É corroborando deste imaginário que se projecta a adaptação a casa de férias de uma antiga villa, situada no sopé da Serra. Terra, cimento e ferro moldam a pré-existência. A ruína amuralhada é consolidada, talhada pontualmente para enquadrar vistas da Serra, sempre presente.&#60;br /&#62;

Serra da Arrábida Natural Park is one of the most peculiar habitats in Portugal.&#60;br /&#62;
A geological phenomenon that, facing the Atlantic Ocean, gives rise to various narratives. &#60;br /&#62;
The Mediterranean of Braudel, Ancient Greece, Ticiano, and Le Mépris.&#60;br /&#62;
A forever and always "balcony of monks," as Bénard da Costa mentioned.&#60;br /&#62;
Sharing this same background, a holiday house is designed for an old villa, situated at the mountain foothill. Earth, cement and iron cast the pre-existence. The fortified ruin is consolidated, punctually tailored in order to frame views of the mountain, always present.&#60;br /&#62;

Mais recentemente, por ali passaram Lagoa Henriques e os Xutos e Pontapés. &#60;br /&#62;
É para o que resistiu de uma das vilas da zona que se projectam duas novas habitações. &#60;br /&#62;
Entre a nostalgia de uma praia perdida e acontecimentos casuais do dia a dia, propõe-se uma ideia de continuidade.&#60;br /&#62;

HOUSE IN PEDROUÇOS&#60;br /&#62;

Until the late nineteenth century, the Pedrouços beach was considered one of the most popular vacation spots for Lisbon’s aristocracy.&#60;br /&#62;
Originally located in the outskirts of Lisbon, the village of  Pedrouços was mainly inhabited by the working class, however during summer days, the wealthier city families arrived in pursuit of fresh air from the countryside and the sea - the Tagus River.&#60;br /&#62;
Later on, artists such as Lagoa Henriques and Xutos e Pontapés, the Portuguese Rolling Stones, wandered by. From what remained of one of the local villages two houses are conceived.&#60;br /&#62;
Between the nostalgia of the lost beach and everyday happenings, it is proposed an idea of continuity.&#60;br /&#62;
